Jean Simmons
Op 80 jarige leeftijd is Jean Simmons in 2010 overleden.Simmons verwierf bekendheid toen zij in 1948 naast Laurence Olivier speelde in Hamlet. Latere films waren Guys and Dolls, Spartacus en The Happy Ending. In de jaren tachtig trad zij op in de serie The Thorn Birds (De Doornvogels), wat haar een Emmy Award opleverde. Simmons was twee keer getrouwd, met acteur Stewart Granger en met regisseur Richard Brooks. Beide huwelijken eindigden met een echtscheiding. Ze is in Californië overleden aan longkanker.
