Peter Falk

Op 83 jarige leeftijd is Peter Falk in 2011 overleden.

Geboren als op 16 september 1927 in New York City, overleden aan de gevolgen van de ziekte van Alzheimer op 23 juni 2011 in Beverly Hills, Californië. Falk moest op driejarige leeftijd een operatie aan zijn rechteroog ondergaan om een kwaadaardige tumor te verwijderen en zou de rest van zijn leven een glazen oog dragen. Hij begon zijn acteercarrière in de jaren vijftig. Voor zijn bijrollen in "Murder, Inc." (1960) en "Pocketful of Miracles" (1961) kreeg hij Oscar-nominaties. In 1962 won hij een Emmy voor zijn rol in de Amerikaanse televisieserie "The Dick Powell Show". In 1968 speelde hij voor het eerst de rol van inspecteur Columbo, de rol waarmee hij wereldberoemd werd. op 25 juli 2013 kreeg hij postuum een ster op de Hollywood Walk of Fame, op 6654 Hollywood Boulevard.
