Martin Scorsese

Geboren op 17 november 1942 in New York City. Zijn eerste film was Who’s That Knocking at My Door uit 1967. Op het Filmfestival van Cannes won hij in 1976 de Gouden Palm voor Taxi Driver. In 1991 won hij drie BAFTA’s (beste regie, beste film, beste scenario) voor Goodfellas. Hij ontving in zijn carrière zeven Oscar-nominaties voor beste regisseur. De laatste nominatie werd gewonnen, voor The Departed. Sinds 28 februari 2003 heeft hij een ster op de Hollywood Walk of Fame, op 6801 Hollywood Boulevard.
