Ray Harryhausen
Op 92 jarige leeftijd is Ray Harryhausen in 2013 overleden.Voornamelijk bekend als specialist in stop-motion-animatronics. Hij werd wereldberoemd met zijn monsters die op het scherm tot leven kwamen met stop-motion-effecten. Bekende creaties van Harryhausen zijn de reuzen-aap in "Mighty Joe Young", de cycloop in "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad", het levende zes-armige Kali-beeld in "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad", de vechtende skeletten, de gigant Talos en de Hydra in "Jason and the Argonauts" en Calibos en Medusa in "Clash of the Titans". In 1992 ontving hij een ere-Oscar en sinds 10 juni 2003 heeft hij een ster op de Hollywood Walk of Fame, op 6840 Hollywood Blvd.
